Community Involvement

Being a parent of two incredible kids and a previous Ambulance Communications Officer (dispatcher), it is incredibly important to me to make a difference in my community and positively impact the lives of my neighbours. Check out some of the initiatives I run or support; I encourage you to get involved with your kids!

100 Kids Who Care

Welcome to 100 Kids Who Care, a unique charity initiative that harnesses the power of young hearts and minds to make a significant impact in their communities. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to inspire children between the ages of 5 and 13 to become compassionate leaders, actively participating in charitable endeavours while learning valuable civic lessons along the way.

Have a Heart, Save a Life!

Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone at any time. Often when it happens there are no defibrillators available until first responders arrive on scene. For every minute access to a defibrillator is delayed, the patient's chances of survival decrease by 7-10% - NOT good odds. Each February, I raise money to place more defibrillators throughout the Durham Region in the hopes of saving the lives of those that go into cardiac arrest in the community.

Learn more about the importance of defibrillators with Officer Jeff Tucker's story below.

Officer Jeff Tucker's Story

In 2018, Officer Jeff Tucker of the Durham Regional Police Services suffered a cardiac arrest while playing hockey at an arena. Three years later, life came full circle, and he had the opportunity to save someone else experiencing cardiac arrest. Check out his story, it's nothing short of incredible!
